Results of Challenge #445

Hello Playmates - Sarn here - popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the name of the big prize winner for Challenge 445.

Like Di - I had real trouble whittling down my picks to just 3, so this time around I have a Top 4! As always, they are listed in entry order:

I simply adore the cute polar bear (below) and the way that Lynne in NI thought outside the box by using Christmas stamps for a birthday card. Perfect for a winter birthday

New playmate, Ellie, bought along this cute Happy Birthday card (below) featuring a sweet Penny Black mouse and lots of snippet strips.

Heather made this lovely homely scene on her card and used up a PILE of teeny tiny snippets in the process. Just gorgeous!

The beautiful quilted card (shown below) was made by KATE L. The pastel coloured snippets remind me of Laura Ashley or Cath Kidston fabrics. The personalised letters complete the look and really complement the quilted pattern below - plus the sentiment is SEW perfect! LOL!

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from the 'Badges' page HERE.

Drum roll please . . . the winner of the craft voucher for £50 (or equivalent in any other currency) is no 34:

LYNNE R (Lynne's Craft Haven)

Congratulations Lynne. Please claim your prize by sending an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and addressIn addition, please include the details of the craft store you would like your prize voucher to come from. Once I hear from you, I'll arrange for the voucher to be sent to you by post or email. Please remember that if any post and packing charges apply when you order using the voucher, you will need to cover them yourself.

There's nearly a week of Di's challenge to go. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find all the details.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

Challenge #446

A new challenge and we're back to 'normal' again with prizes. Do still be sure to say what snippets you used - adding a photo of your snippets is purely optional again, although Sarn and I do like to see them.

Here's my snippets card:

All the details, with Dudley's latest news and my pile of snippets I had out initially to tackle the above, as well as how I used them, are over on Pixies - HERE.

The prize for this fortnight is:

The image on the back of the packet containing the dies - yummy!

It's a set of sentiment stamps and a pair of 'peony' dies from the Snippets Toy Box. The Spellbinders 'Flowers Whisper' dies are big and bold (approx. 5" wide and 5.5" high), they make a great pairing with one or more of the sentiment stamps.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday, 4th February. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Winners outside the UK: please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although we both always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Love and hugs from Dudley and Di,

Results of Challenge #444

Here are my top picks from Challenge #444.

What a great card from Christa! I love Leo the Lion and what a fun way to use up lots of lovely snippets as well. Great idea to incorporate the patterned papers reflecting animal patterns - I spy zebra and giraffe at least.

Aw - how adorable is this sweet teddy bear and a pile of (his?) presents. Lucky bear if so! Helen always does such amazing paper piecing - a truly lovely card! Great colouring as well.

Our lovely Carol L came to play - and for a cuddle with Dudley I suspect. It's heartwarming to see Carol still playing along with us and sharing her talent. We always LOVE a herringbone card - such a super way to use snippets!

Oh wow! What a fabulous idea this is - brought to us by Susan B. Susan always makes such lovely cards, and this is no exception. I'm sure that those sweet snippets hearts positioned as they are, weren't just a happy accident - perfect!

Four picks this time as I truly couldn't whittle it down.

If you're a pick or a Gold Star winner, please always feel free to collect your badge from the 'Badges' page. Just click on 'Badges' on the top bar of this page.

Onto the prize draw, for the £50 (or overseas equivalent) craft voucher - and the winner is:

SHartL (Shannon)

To claim your prize, please send me an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease. In addition, please include the details of the craft store you would like your prize voucher to come from.

I expect your prize voucher is most likely to come via email - the equivalent to £50 sterling. That's just under $61 and I can't see that it will be easy to buy a voucher for that amount so I propose that the voucher will actually be for straight $60. Once I hear from you, I'll arrange for a voucher to be sent to you. Please remember that if any post and packing charges apply when you order using the voucher, you will need to cover them yourself. I bet there's a bit of a Happy Dance going on right now!

The current snippets challenge is being hosted by Sarn and still has almost a further week to run - just scroll down to the previous post to find it. There's another celebratory prize to be won as well!

After that, we'll return to normal for a while - whatever 'normal' is in the Snippets Playground!

Finally, many of you will already know that our Janis (Woolbright) unexpectedly left us far too soon, just over a week ago. A lovely lady who will be very much missed for the Cat Lovers Hop. And by me for the gentle humour in her emails and quite a lot of invaluable advice when Dudley was just a little puppy. RIP our sweet Playmate - hope you're running around surrounded by all those kitties you loved over the years. Thoughts are also with Janis's family as well - her son James has been kind enough to keep her Facebook, as well as her blog, up to date.

Anyhow - if you haven't already joined in with the current challenge - what are you waiting for? Shoo!

Challenge #445 - Show us your Snippets!

Hello Playmates! Sarn here . . .

Today we are celebrating!

Celebrating WHAT? I hear you ask! Well, it's Di's ELEVENTH BLOGOVERSARY, that's what!

In order to celebrate we are offering another £50 gift voucher (or overseas equivalent) for one lucky Playmate. As before, the winner will need to choose their favourite craft store, which MUST offer gift vouchers. There is NO CASH ALTERNATIVE. Once the winner has nominated a store, I will arrange for them to receive the voucher. In most cases, an order worth £50 qualifies for free postage, but in any case, any postage/mailing charges incurred for items ordered using the prize voucher must be paid for by the winner.

In order to qualify for the prize our usual rules apply (i.e. there's no theme) but JUST FOR THIS CHALLENGE, you MUST ADD A PHOTO to your blog post showing the snippets used in making your project. The need for a snippets photo is NOT a new general rule - although both Di and I love it when you show us your snippet photos.

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

So, please do come and join in some Playground fun by using up snippets on a project, then submit your "homework" using Mr Linky (below). Remember to ADD A PHOTO OF THE SNIPPETS YOU USED and leave a comment saying YES PLEASE (or similar) if you wish to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 21st January 2023. They'll reopen at midnight the same day for the start of the next challenge.

Results of Challenge #443

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL FROM ME, DI and DUDLEY.

Here are the details of my Top Picks, as well as the Prize winner for Challenge 443.

TOP PICKS:

I was completely enamoured with the lovely star cards (shown below) that ALISON C made. Such lovely festive die-cutting.

I really loved the shape of this great gift box made by Ionnabunny (below). A great one to try.

This stunning wreath really took my breath away. IMHO Brenda could easily have been a contestant on Kirstie Allsopp's Christmas Crafting programme (a show that was on UK telly just before Christmas).

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from the 'Badges' page HERE.

The prize winner for the stamp bundle is No. 13 (lucky for some!)

Kathy K

Congratulations Kathy. Please claim your prize by sending me an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and address so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.

Remember there's still nearly a week of Di's themed challenge to go - with a magnificent prize up for grabs. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find it, then go and play!

PS: A little heads-up for you . . . the next Snippets Playground Challenge starting next Sunday, will require a little EXTRA homework from you! This will entail you adding a photo of the snippets you use for your homework in order to qualify for the prize.
