Results of Challenge #496

Hello folks - Di here, hopping in with the results from Challenge #496.

Here are my 3 top picks (in entry order):

It's absolutely gorgeous (thank you for mine Lynne) and so beautifully made. It reminds me of how much I love Westies. Ruby - and now your little bundle of fun Little Miss Molly - both have places in my heart.

I almost needed a lie down in a darkened room with a wet flannel over my face after taking a good look at this really intricate card, made by Lynne. I gave up even trying to imagine how fiddly it was - BUT - what a fantastic 'village' card as a result!!

The third card I picked, from sweet Kathy A, also happened to feature a pooch - very much a Dudley lookalike! That is exactly his stance when he sits waiting for me to present him with his dinner plate - yup, you heard me ............ plate!

As always, great entries and choosing a top three was the usual fun - unintentionally though, two of my picks featured doggies! Dudley, have you been interfering with my lists of potential picks?  Thank you so much to all of you for playing along with us - particularly as it was such a busy time of the year, 32 entries was very healthy! More so as we only allow one entry per challenge from a player.

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from HERE.

The final four of the randomly picked winners of the December bumper prize bundles are in order of picking:

Please claim your prize by 11am UK time on 25th January 2025  by sending your name and address details via email using the Snippets Playground email address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line.

If any of you are having trouble commenting, please see HERE for a possible solution.

Remember there's still nearly a week of Sarn's current challenge to go. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find all the details. It's a £30, or equivalent in currency, voucher to spend in a craft shop of your choice so - dig out those snippets and come and play!

Hugs, Di and Dudley xxx

Challenge #497

Hello Playmates!

Here's another chance to use up your snippets and play in the Snippets Playground Challenge, with yours truly hosting for the next fortnight.

The details of the shaped card below can be found on my personal blog HERE:

On 8th January it will be 13 years since Miss Di was handed the keys to the Snippets Playground. In order to celebrate this auspicious occasion, the prize for this challenge will be a £30 gift voucher for a craft shop of the winner's choice. There is no cash alternative. An order of £30 often qualifies for free postage, but in any case, any postage/mailing charges due for items ordered using the prize voucher must be paid for by the winner.

In order to play along, just follow our RULES, then bring your homework to the Snippets Playground and enter using Mr Linky (below).

The Playground gates will close for this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 18th January 2025. They'll reopen at midnight the same day for the start of the next challenge.

All the best from me, Miss Di and Dudley Dog.

Results of Challenge #495

Hello Playmates - Sarn here - popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the FOUR prize winners for Challenge #495.

Before we go any further, one of our regular playmates, Sue (Zouave Cards) has asked us to let you know that her husband, Roy, passed away on Friday, 20th December. She is obviously heartbroken and isn't up to putting anything on her own blog, which is why she asked Di if we could say something on her behalf. We hope that those of you who know Sue will join with us in sending her our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy.

Moving on . . . my three top picks, in entry order, are:

This lovely card in blue and white was brought along to the Playground by Papierelle. I love all the blue tones for the forest of trees behind the sweet little wintry cottage scene.

Next up is Sandy J's wonderfully festive floral card in red and gold - proving that you don't actually need a poinsettia die to trick the eye into thinking that's what you're seeing!

My final pick is by Taty, who brought along some beautiful festive packaging ideas using up lots of snippets with her dies

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from HERE.

The four randomly picked winners, in entry order, are:

Congratulations to you all.

Please claim your prize by 11am UK time on 11th January 2025 by sending your name and address details via email using the Snippets Playground email address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line.

If any of you are having trouble commenting, please see HERE for a possible solution.

Remember there's still nearly a week of Di's challenge to go. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find all the details.

Wishing playmates old and new all the best for a happy, healthy and peaceful 2025 from me (and my teamies - Miss Di and Dudley Dog).

Challenge #496

Welcome to a new challenge in the Snippets Playground. All the card details are over on Pixie's Crafty Workshop HERE - as well as Dudley's latest 'Pupdate'

DECEMBER CHALLENGES AND PRIZES:

We are doing something a little different for our two December challenges this year

I have emptied the Toy Box of all things festive and with the help of my Christmas Elf (of course, Dudley) have been busy bundling together 4-5 Christmas-themed items at a time, to make up BUMPER MYSTERY PARCELS for FOUR LUCKY WINNERS PER CHALLENGE (so there will be EIGHT WINNERS for December). To make life easier, you won't be able to choose a prize - it will be pot luck - but I guarantee that all winners will get a lovely festive surprise in the post during January.

In order to play along, just follow the RULES, then bring your homework to the Snippets Playground and enter using Mr Linky (below). There is no theme to follow . . . it's anything goes, so long as you have used at least one snippet on your homework.

    • Please remember to say what snippets you used (or include a photo of them). We are no longer chasing playmates for details of their snippets. If it is not clear what snippets have been used in an entrant's blog post, the entry will automatically be excluded from being a Top Pick or a prize winner.
    • Please leave a comment advising whether you're just playing for fun or wish to be included in the mystery prize draw. Any entrant not leaving a comment to the contrary is deemed to be playing for fun and will be excluded from the prize draw.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday,  4th January 2025. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

    Dates for your diary

December Challenge Results will be posted on 29th December 2024 (for Challenge #495) and 12th January 2025 (for this Challenge, #496).

    Playground Shenanigans:

I happen to know (because Dudley snitched) that Sarn has some wild ideas about our Christmas Party on Christmas Eve - here's a little hint of what's to come - after I found the piece of paper with her 'plan of action' that Dudley had stolen then licked and CHEWED - my responses are in italics:

'The Playground Christmas party is being held in the school hall on Christmas Eve. Thanks to * CHEWED * chains and blow up * CHEWED * (I dread to even think what's missing from those!) to decorate the hall. She's kidding surely!?

Di and I have been busy putting out CHEWED * - might be beds, I dunno and am not checking. This is getting worrying.

And making sure there are plenty of CHEWED * (perhaps spot?) lights about the place - plus we dragged in a huge CHEWED *- so I laid down and fanned my red face - and decorated CHEWED *(What? What was it?).

To read the rest, head on over to Sarn's blog post HERE where, with luck, she may still have the original un-licked and un-chewed plan!

Have a wonderful Festive Season, come and play with us and may 2025 be a very good year for all of you, dear friends.

Love and hugs from Di and Dudley,

    Results of Challenge #494

Hello folks - Di here, hopping in with the results from Challenge #494.

Here are my 3 top picks (in entry order) - coincidentally but unsurprisingly, they are all Christmas themed!

Viv came to visit after being AWOL for a little while - and what a fabulous treat she brought. I love these snippety Christmas trees, such a great way to use up scraps of lace and trimmings.

Next, Gail arrived, waving a real beauty of a card, great use of snippets and I love the colour combination as well as the lovely embossed pieces at top and bottom. It makes the poinsettia really 'pop'!

Then, last but certainly not least of my picks - here's Kate's absolutely fabulous Christmas sleigh card. Pink and gold - a delicious combination. So pretty and not an easy one to tackle. Trust me, I've gazed longingly online at the set of Spellbinders dies Kate used and there's quite a few pieces to play with!

As always, great entries and choosing a top three was tricky-woo! Thank you so much to all of you for playing along with us.

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from HERE.

    The randomly picked winner is:

Please claim your prize by 11am UK time on 28th December by sending your name and address details via email using the Snippets Playground email address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line.

Next up is this super festive card made by Nonni - using up lots of snippets. Love the background and the jolly Santa.

    Challenge #494

Welcome to a new challenge in the Snippets Playground. All the card details are over on Pixie's Crafty Workshop HERE - as well as Dudley's latest 'Pupdate'.

Lynn (Linby) who donated the Butterfly set made a lovely card (shown above) using her own set - just to whet your appetites! To read how she made it, scroll down to Mr Linky and Lynn's card is linked in at #2

These are the items making up the prize: a really lovely Crafter's Companion stamp and die set called 'Butterfly Wishes' - kindly donated by Lynn (Linby), thanks again Lynn! Plus a Waffle Flower stamp set called 'Gym Rat' and the matching set of dies which is tucked inside the back of the stamp set to keep them together. Those are from me. So it's actually three items in total.

I've had the 'Gym Rat' set of stamps and matching dies for absolutely ages (several years and unavailable now) in the Toy Box. I found a YouTube video, six years old, with a card maker using the sets HERE

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 7th December. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Please be sure to state what snippets you used on your entry, or add a photo of them, otherwise it won't count in the prize draw.

** We DO ask that you, at the very least, say what snippets were used on your entry. Lately, we have had to quietly eliminate people from being a top pick, or from being in the prize draw, who just don't, or perhaps won't, comply with the simple challenge rule about identifying snippets used. We can't go hunting for clues, sorry.

Remember that we reserve the right to delete non-compliant entries. It's very important to us to keep the Playground as a happy place to come and play - as well as making sure everyone plays fairly.

Winners outside the UK please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Sarn and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

If any of you are having trouble commenting, please see HERE for a possible solution.

Love and hugs from Di and Dudley,

    Results of Challenge #492

Hello folks - Di here, hopping in with the results from Challenge #492.

Here are my 3 top picks (in entry order).

Love this card, made by Pam! On her blog, Pam's photos are always quite small - but just LOOK at this gorgeous bee card, made extra large. I adore it - the wings are so, so sweet - the detail overall is lovely. Don't be shy Pam - your work is great!

Donna brought this scrumptious card to share - along with a photo of her snippets (thanks for that Donna, it makes life easier for us). That die set is a real keeper - and what a wonderful result. I can almost taste those cookies! Very 'German Christmas Markets' - yummy!

Many of us really love this set of triptych dies (other versions are available) and I was delighted to see Liz using her Studio Light set. We often 'mutually enable' one another and Liz used her purchase so well. Wonderful colours, gorgeous snippetty die cuts - in short - a stunner!

As always, some really super entries from you - this 'picking' can get really tough, I had to leave a couple out this time and stick to three as in the rules. Thank you so much for playing along with us.
