Challenge #476

Welcome to a new challenge in the Snippets Playground. My snippets card this time is a Christmas one (despite it being St. Patrick's Day - but at least there's green there!). All the details are over on Pixie's Crafty Workshop HERE - as well as Dudley's latest 'Pupdate'.

There are four items making up the prize, one from Viv and the rest are from me.  A Crafters Companion/Gemini 'Lily of the Valley' stamps and matching dies set, an Aall & Create stamp called 'Windy Willows', a Woodware stamp called 'Garden Snail' and a Tonic 'Mazarine Blue' die.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 30th March 2024. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Please state what snippets you used on your entry, or add a photo of them, otherwise it won't count in the prize draw.

Remember that we do reserve the right to delete non-compliant entries. It's very important to us to keep the Playground as a happy place to come and play - as well as making sure everyone plays fairly.

Winners outside the UK please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Sarn and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Love and hugs from Di and Dudley,

Results of Challenge #474

Hello folks - hopping in with the results from Challenge #474. We had a bumper number of 42 entries and quite a few new faces - Sarn and I , along with Dudley, have been celebrating by seeing who could swing the highest on the swings! As a child I once, only once, swung high enough to actually go over the top bar on a swing - no-one told me what a sudden thump you came down with, rather like a stone falling rather than the exhilarating swoop I'd expected! I never tried that particular trick again - probably lucky I didn't break my neck!

Here are my 3 top picks (in entry order) - which were whittled ,with enormous difficulty, down from my short list:

I love this really happy card made by LesleyShe actually made a huge selection of them and they really are uplifting! Loads of snippets used and a lot of patient work too!

Karen C also hopped in (no pun intended) with a lovely variety of cards. Another very happy and fun card - that smile just cracks me up! Plenty of snippets used here too.

And last, but by no means least, Kath skipped in with this absolutely gorgeous Christmas card. Each year, Kath chooses a theme for her cards - this year it's 'green and gold' - so elegant and a lovely result.

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from HERE.

The randomly picked winner is:

Sue (Zouave Cards)

Please claim your prize by 23rd March 2024 by sending your name and address details via email using the Snippets Playground email address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line.

If any of you are having trouble commenting, please see HERE for a possible solution.

Remember there's still nearly a week of the current challenge to go. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find all the details.

Hugs, Di and 'Dudley, super-cool Dude and I survived the week from Hell Dog' - woof! xxx

Results of Challenge #472

Hello Playmates - I'm standing in for Di who is on leave while she takes care of Len, ably assisted by Dudley of course! I'm sure you will join me in wishing Len well, and sending Di our love ♥️ (because we all know what good patients men make!) 😂

Here are my 3 top picks (in entry order) - which were whittled down from 10 in the first instance!

I absolutely adored the bunny card that CAROL L submitted as her homework. The whole card is made from snippets too!

GUNDI made this cute bear card from all sorts of paper snippets and I just couldn't resist it. The flowers are gorgeous.

I always find masculine cards more difficult to make, but KATE L has made it look effortless with this brilliant one for her husband, using some Gummiapan dies:

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from HERE.

The randomly picked winner is:

Results of Challenge #470

Here we go with the picks from Challenge #470, in numerical order:

I really love this card, made by Greta! The combination of embossing and using dies is so lovely! Love the colours too.

Laurie never adds a card to the Playground that doesn't make me go 'Wow'! I LOVE this beach scene, it's perfectly composed and so well made from carefully chosen and placed snippets.

And goodness me - I've always loved David Hockney's Swimming Pool series and the execution of Lynn's card is a wonderful tribute to his work and style, spot-on Linby!

Wonderful entries from all of you - be it a 'Pick' or not - we so love to see you share your work!

The randomly drawn winners of the Christmas/New Year Challenge £25 vouchers for a store of their choice are:

Congratulations to Kath and Lynn! To claim your prizes, please send an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Challenge #471 - Celebration Theme

Hello Playmates!

It's the start of a SPECIAL challenge here in the Snippets Playground - where we are celebrating 12 years of Miss Di holding the keys to the Playground. 😎 In honour of this, there are TWO BUMPER PRIZES on offer, as well as another THEME to comply with!

The theme for this challenge is CELEBRATION. You are free to interpret this in any way you wish, as long as the celebration is obvious on your snippets project.

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE

I went for a special birthday celebration!

The TWO prizes are fairly evenly split - each comprising a mixture of festive embossing folders, stamps and dies - further details listed below. Yes, I know it's Christmas goodies, but this little clear-out of the Toy Box will give you things to make throughout the year, ready for next Christmas!

Prize A: A4 Angela Poole Snowflake stencil "Frozen Lace"; Sweet Dixie "Stitched Winter Foliage" dies; 2 x Tonic Studios dies - "Peace Dove" & "Star Bauble"; Crafter's Companion "Cute Christmas" clear stamps, as well as their "Jolly Gingerbread Man" die; Sizzix Thinlits "Retro Merry Christmas" die; 2 x Woodware clear stamp sets "Three Baubles" & "Festive Faces"; Visible Image "Simply Snowflakes" clear stamp set and a cling red rubber stamp set of a house and lovely Christmas sentiment saying "Christmas joy is in my heart".

PRIZE A

Prize B: Tonic Studios' massive 32 piece die set called "Staggered Stage Winter Village" (to make up a village diorama as well as a super 3D card); Sheena Douglas "Frosty Ice Border" embossing folder; 2 x Crafter's Companion dies - "Brush Happy Holidays" & "Scandinavian Christmas"; 2 x Crafter's Companion clear stamp sets with various festive images; 2 x Woodware clear stamps "Patch Circle Bauble" & "Bringing Gifts"; Visible Image clear stamps "Inked Holly" and lastly, a Touch of Christmas "Christmas Baubles" die trio (round bauble, star and bell).

PRIZE B

Items in both prize bundles were kindly donated by Lesley G; Val (Aquarius) and Lynn (Linby), as well as Di (and myself). Huge thanks to all of you.

Over to you now! Have a look at your snippets pile, then run off and make something with them using the CELEBRATION theme. Enter your project via Mr Linky, then leave a comment at the end of this blog post, stating whether you wish to play for PRIZE A, PRIZE B, or EITHER (or whether you're just playing for fun!).

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 20th January 2024. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Hugs from Sarn xxx
