Results of Challenge #454

Let's take a dive straight into the top picks for Challenge #454, in numerical order as usual:

Linby (Lynn) made this really lovely card, immediately using two items from her Snippets Challenge #452 prize win. Talk about quick off the mark and it's always really lovely to see people using their prizes to make a snippets entry. And what a super card as well, very elegant.

This glorious card by TK is a lovely work of art and dedication with SO many snippets used in the design. And a little reminder from TK, Press n Seal clear film is a great way to pick up pieces that you've got laid into an arrangement and transfer them safely onto your card front. Am almost certain the idea originally came from Jennifer McGuire, whose husband invented Press n Seal - Amazon sell the film BTW.

And my final pick this time was made by Susan S. Such a wonderful way to use up snippets and a great reminder of the 'wave' card technique! Always perfect for CAS cards, especially for 'chaps'. One of Len's great-nephews has a Birthday coming up in June and I may very well make him a 'wave' card! Thanks for the timely reminder Susan!

Please take your 'picks' badges for your blogs - if you wish of course - from the top bar.

We had some lovely entries, as always. My short list had five 'picks' on it - but I was strong and whittled them down to the usual three that Sarn and I aim for. It's always heartening when people come to play with us every fortnight - keep it up girls. Mind you, with the warmer weather here I expect the outdoors might be beckoning to a lot of people - make the most of it whilst we've got it! Sunshine can be as rare as hen's teeth in the UK, but when the sun does come out to play it's a total delight!

The randomly drawn winner of the two sets of dies from Positively Papercraft is:
To claim your prize, please send an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease.

The current snippets challenge is being hosted by Sarn and still has almost a further week to run - just scroll down to the previous post to find it. There's a very nice prize to be won as well!

Challenge #455

Hello Playmates!

It seems as good a time as any to get out my large skipping rope so we can all take it in turns to skip and jump in and out of the rope! Or we can always have a game of hopscotch . . . depends whether your preference is for hopping or skipping!

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

The prize for this challenge (pictured below) comprises three sets of stamps! The lovely layered flowers and butterfly stamps were kindly donated by Brenda, and the other fun Woodware sentiments are from the toy box.

Please bring your snippets homework to the Playground and use Mr Linky (below) to submit it for marking! Please remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED (or include a photo of them) and leave a comment making it clear whether you're playing for fun or wish to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 10th June 2023. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Results of Challenge #453

Hello Playmates - I'm popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my top picks and the prize winner for Challenge 453.

Here are my top picks in entry order:

I adored the lovely coastal scene that Val created in her homework:

The placement of Jeanne H's tiny snippets was well thought out and made a very striking card - proving once again that less really can be MORE!

I just had to include this really cute card with lovely placement of snippets by Katrina (below):

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from HERE.

The randomly drawn winner of the wooden stamps and a floral die set is:

KATRINA BUFTON

WOW - that's a double whammy for you Katrina . . . a top pick AND the prize winner . . . go buy a lottery ticket! Please claim your prize by sending your name and address details via email using the Snippets Playground email address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line.

Remember there's still nearly a week of Di's challenge to go. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find all the details.

Challenge #454

A new challenge and here's my snippets card:

All the details, including Dudley's latest Pupdate, are over on Pixie's HERE

The prize for this fortnight is made up of two items from Positively Papercraft - and they are both linked to either my previous post on Pixies, last Sunday, or the card above - which is over on Pixies as already said above. It reminds me of the days when I always made sample cards for each snippets challenge ☺:

They are fun to use and certainly the strip dies are fabulous for snippets - it's the 'Paper strip' die set and also the 'Cracked Glass' die sets.

To be honest, I used a different set of strip dies, bought before Ann Melvin was selling her version, for my sample card above. BUT, I actually think that Ann's design (which is part of the prize) is actually much better - mine is three solid plates and trickier to line up for repeats - more spending to come!

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday, 27th May. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Please state what snippets you used on your entry, and/or add a photo of them, otherwise it won't count in the prize draw. Remember that we do reserve the right to delete non-compliant entries. It's very important to us to keep the Playground as a happy place to come and play - as well as making sure everyone plays nicely and fairly.

Winners outside the UK: please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Sarn and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Love and hugs from Di and Dudley,

Results of Challenge #452

Let's plunge straight into the top picks for Challenge #452, in numerical order - but first we have a *Gold Star* entry:

Kathy A raced in just before the Playground gates closed and just one look at her card told me it was an absolute 'Gold Star' entry. Tons of beautiful snippets, beautifully designed and executed - and so striking. I LOVE it!

It's such a delight when Lesley comes to play with us. Her cards are always gorgeous and I chose her as a pick because quite clearly there's a lot of work here - and all with snippets. A lovely card and let's hope it's a sign of Summer being on the way!

Oh, Lynne in NI - the way to my heart is through the colour pink!  What a lovely card this is, wonderful design and absolutely perfect! I do love the clever use of the trellis behind the very pretty flowers too.

What a great view from the window on Vicky's card! So clean and crisp and the view! Such a clever idea and to find out just how it was done you need to hop over to Vicky's blog - although I will spoil it a bit and say that your really ought to hang onto magazine images with nice background views!

And, I absolutely could not cut down my picks to just three (plus the Gold Star by Kathy) this time. And so, last but not least, we have this great 50th Birthday card made by Valerija. A lovely card, beautifully designed and made - with plenty of snippets. The thing that really struck me was how Valerija picked up the background paper with the number 50. It ties the whole card together so well!

Please take your badges for your blogs. Gold Star and Picks - if you wish of course - from the top bar.

It gets more difficult to choose the final picks as time goes on. We have some fabulous and really well thought out snippets entries, not easy to choose as I found this time. Although, at times there are huge contrasts between cards which have been made with snippets in mind in the spirit of the Playground and those which are 'Oh, why not, I'll also enter it into the Snippets Playground'. It stands out a mile folks and is noticed! Only sayin'. 😒

The randomly drawn winner of the embossing folder and two sets of dies from The Works is:.

To claim your prize, please send an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease.

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

So now it's your turn to do some homework! All you have to do is find some snippets to play with (I KNOW you have some), then use Mr Linky (below) to submit for marking!

Please remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED (or include a photo of them) and leave a comment making it clear whether you're just playing for fun or wish to be included in the prize draw.

Results of Challenge #451

Hello Playmates - Sarn here - popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the prize winner for Challenge #451.

Here are my top picks (in entry order):

Aquarius (Val) made this lovely Easter card with a fab bunny die that has proved very popular this Spring/Easter. I love the stencilled background and the use of tiny snippets for the scene too.

Liz made this well-designed card using up small snippet strips and the addition of her "trademark" sunflowers. A lovely card full of sunshine.

My final choice is by Lesley G, who made this gorgeous floral card (and a few others if you look at her blog).

Well done to EVERYONE who played along - you've no idea how difficult it is to pick just 3!

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from the 'Badges' page HERE

And now for the winner of Challenge #451 . . . it's No. 13 . . . NOT unlucky in this case!

JO

Congratulations Jo. Please claim your prize by sending me an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and address so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.

Remember there's still nearly a week of Di's challenge to go. If you haven't submitted a piece of homework yet, just scroll down to the previous post to find all the details.

Challenge #452

A new challenge and here's my snippets card:

It's the last of the bunny - for now as he's having a little rest after all the posing! All the details, with Dudley's latest news, are over on Pixies - HERE.

The prize for this fortnight is:

It's a Cuttlebug embossing folder - the pattern is small daisies. Plus two sets of dies from The Works. One is two dies to cut pretty designs into the corner of your project and the other one is a set of five pennants with double stitching lines along the top.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday, 29th April.

Sarn's game of 'tag you're it' during our previous challenge was fun to watch, Dudley was exhausted as, 'of course' he had to join in. I wonder what she's cooking up next?!

Winners outside the UK: please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although we both always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Love and hugs from Di and Dudley,

Results of Challenge #450

Let's plunge  straight into the three top picks for Challenge #450, in numerical order:

What a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, created by Lynne R! Wonderful use of plenty of little snippets, gorgeous colouring and a perfect result!

Love, love this adorable Easter card - made by Alice. Such a lovely design, fresh Spring colours - and also the image is currently a freebie over at Gerda Stein. Alice has a link on her blog post if you want to download it!

I adore the simplicity of the Easter cards that 'Papierelle' brought to share with us. When you look closely, there's actually a lot of work colouring the pussy willow branches. The sweet little tails swung it for me - how clever to use real little pussy willow fluffy buds!

It's totally coincidental that the picks this week are flowers or Easter - just the way it turned out. Every single entry was great and, as I always say, it's a tough job picking just three to showcase.

The randomly drawn winner of a set of Pretty Pink Posh sentiments and the Woodware 'Van Cat' set of stamps is:

And once again, one of our picks popped out as the prize winner! Incredible - well done Alice, it's been a while since you were a winner so it's all the sweeter we hope!

There's a nice prize to be won as well!

I have yet another Easter appearance by 'that Bunny' over on my own blog - HERE.

Hello Playmates, I'm popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the prize winner for Challenge 449.

Here are my top picks (in entry order):

I adore this brilliant masculine card (below) by Sandra H. It's a great layout and has plenty of dimension - and a super guitar charm too!

Just look at all these brilliant vintage tickets and stamps made by Granne (below). Great for anyone making junk journals or vintage ATCs.

This beautiful card full of green and gold dragonflies (below) is a stunner. Made by the talented Bonnie. The leafy embossing makes a perfect background.

If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from the 'Badges' page HERE.

The lucky winner of the two die sets is No 30:

KATE L

Congratulations Kate. Please claim your prize by sending an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and address so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.
