Challenge #429

Hello Playmates -

The following Jubilee Prize of two lovely tea party stamp sets has now been drawn. To find out who won, please come back tomorrow to see Di's Results Post.

For the remainder of the challenge, you can play for this cute set of Lawn Fawn Dinosaur stamps and matching dies from the Playground Toy Box (that's code for the fact that Di bought them!!).

For my homework this week . . . I made a patriotic-coloured card for the Jubilee tea party!

As you know, Miss Di challenged me to come up with a Jubilee Cocktail, so I need volunteers to try out a few recipes before the Tea Party we're going to have on the Jubilee weekend. Please join me up at the Treehouse Bar for free tasting sessions! Di will be hanging up red, white and blue bunting around the Playground and decking out the picnic tables likewise, plus there'll be little Union Jack flags for you to wave around! I understand Di is being kept busy baking scones, making Coronation Chicken sandwiches, a number of trifles and setting various jellies for the gallons of ice cream she's bought - so do please come and join us for a Playground Tea Party on the Jubilee Weekend - you're all invited

This challenge will close at 11am UK time on Saturday, 11th June. The gates will open again at midnight (UK time) on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

With love from an excited flag-waving, cocktail-drinking Sarn (along with Di and Dudley of course)!

Results of Challenge #427

Hello Playmates, Sarn here . . .

Thanks for dropping by to see the results of Challenge 427.

I was pretty worn out from all that Maypole dancing and cocktail drinking, which made the job of picking three entries to showcase EVEN HARDER! There were so many lovely projects to choose from - but here's my 3 Top Picks in order of entry:

I love the card below, made by KATH, which uses up lots of leafy die-cut snippets made to look like flower petals with the addition of a centre circle for the sentiment. This card just says SPRING to me!

CHRISTA made a wonderful circular card (below) with traditional clogs on it in support of a friend who has taken in a Ukrainian refugee. If you nip over to her blog, you'll see the tiny clog key ring she crocheted too!

I chose SUE'S scrapbook page (below) not only because I think it's a great layout, but also because it shows how to use up some of your larger snippets. I don't do scrapbooking, but I can see it's a fab way to document your memories.

If you're one of the "picks", please feel free to collect a 'Top Picks' badge from HERE.

Next: the Prize Draw . . . drum roll please . . . the WINNER of the embossing folder and stamp set is entry No. 13 - Pat from Colourful Card Creations.
Congratulations Pat. Please claim your prize by sending an email to the Snippets Playground using the address shown on the right hand sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your ADDRESS so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.

There's still nearly a week left to run on the current challenge - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

Challenge #428

Well, we had a bit of a mixed bag of weather for the May Day Celebrations - I almost dread to think what Sarn will dream up for our Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Which reminds me, must order some bunting and other bits and pieces as, no doubt, things will get to fever pitch very shortly.

Ha, my challenge to Sarn is a red, white and blue cocktail for the Playground celebrations! I'll make the Coronation Chicken sandwiches - and Dudley can be Chief Taster!

Straight onto my snippets card:

All the 'how I made it' details are over on my own Pixie's blog, HERE, should you want to know more.

The prize for this fortnight is several stamps/stamp sets:

They are all made by Little Claire (sadly no longer trading, but I loved their stamps) and they come as ONE single bundle. The stamps were kindly donated by Sue of Zouave Cards, along with loads of other goodies yet to be offered. Thank you so much again Sue.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 28th May. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

The latest news of Dudley is also over on my own Pixie's blog post for today - HERE. He's getting too clever for his own good!

Love and hugs from Dudley and Di, xx

Results of Challenge #426

Here's hoping we haven't seen the last of the recent warmer weather we've been having - the past few days were pretty gloomy, despite all the pretty Spring flowers bursting into life. Thankfully we've since had some sunshine here - yay!

Straight onto the 'picks' now:

Val came to play with this really great card - a set of shelves with lots of lovely books to read - plus a sleeping kitty, aw so cute. Lots of lovely snippets used and a lot of detailed work as well! Lovely card.

What a great card, made by Caroline (KISS). to celebrate her daughter gaining a PhD. She certainly is a super star and Caroline brought such a great way to use up plenty of different coloured snippets - this is a design I think you might want to try for yourselves?

I do so love this card, it made me really have the giggles. Made by Lynne in NI, a super fun card and great use of snippets. I giggled all the more when I read further and discovered that the 'parachute' half deployed is actually the bunny's ears!

It reminds me very much of a guy I've nicknamed the 'Red Baron' who has started up his annual 'flights for thrills' from a nearby airfield. At times I'm sitting here, emailing Sarn on Snippets business, whilst waiting for the Red Baron, doing his 'loop the loops' complete with white silk scarf, to end up looking at me with a sheepish expression ..... with his plane's cockpit embedded through my craft room window.

And as a grand finale - perhaps we need an extra prize for 'using up your oldest snippets'! Karen (Ladd) recalled punching a load of these hexagons - and it turns out to be closer to 20 years than the 10 years ago she originally thought! But, it does show all the more how we really ought to hang onto every scrap of card and paper we can for future use! A lovely card as well Karen - even if we had to wait a while ☺

As always, we had some great entries. If you're a pick, please always feel free to collect your 'Top picks' badge from the 'Badges' page.

Onto the prize draw, set of dies and stamp set kindly donated by Brenda of 'Floral Fantasies'. And the winner is:

Glennis

To claim your prize, please send me an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease.

The current snippets challenge still has almost a further week to run - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

For news of Dudley - go and peek at 'Pixie's' over HERE. He's still nosing around, and reporting back, in the Playground - but I keep his more personal stories, adventures and updates on my own Pixie's blog now. I do know that flying around on Maypoles make him 'car sick dizzy' - don't even go there!

Love from Di and Dudley (Mister W-B) xxx

Challenge #427

Hello Playmates!

Can you believe it's my turn to host the next fortnight's Snippets Playground Challenge again! These fortnights sure fly by! Managed to avoid detention after the first time I hosted, so all is well!

Hey girls . . . it's May Day here in the UK and I just discovered that Miss Di has been busy making flower head dresses all week and has erected a huge Maypole in the middle of the Playground. So, who wants to wear flowers in their hair, grab a Maypole Ribbon and dance around? Anyone? I'm IN! Miss Di has even got Dudley kitted out in a special neckerchief and he's happy to dance along with us (for treats!).

Before the dancing starts, here's my homework - a little card made entirely of snippets - full details on my own blog HERE if you're interested in making a zigzag card.

The prize for this fortnight (pictured below) is a lovely embossing folder and a beautiful floral stamp set, both kindly donated by Sandma. (Thanks again Sandma!). Both sets make up one prize and won't be split.

If you feel inspired to make something with your snippets, then please come and join in the fun, and dance around the Maypole (it's going to be in place all fortnight). Please remember to check the RULES HERE - as Di and I have noticed a few entrants have not said which snippets have been used in their project. Detentions may be handed out for non-compliance!

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will clang shut at 11am UK time on Saturday, 14th May 2022. The gates will reopen for the next Challenge at midnight the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Hugs from Sarn x
