Results of Challenge #434

Well, the heatwaves had us, mostly me, wondering how many entries we'd end up with this last time around. Sarn, ever a chirpy little soul reckoned we'd be fine - and me (aka Eeyore) took a gloomier view until the sprint towards the final few days!

Here are my top picks from Challenge 434:

I chose this entry, made by Christa, because it's fabulous of course, and also as the amount of work (and perfectionism) is stunning. A super way to use up loads of little snippets - and the fact that the edges are not exactly fitted to the joins of the patchwork really adds to its charm. Very clever idea.

Snippets can be used so many ways, and they often lend themselves to scenes. Our Val's entry is a classic example on her really super Christmas card. It's so stylish to begin with - and then just look at the very clever choices of top and bottom papers, great stuff Val!

And, with no apologies to 'top and bottom' papers, my last but not least, pick from the many possibles is this card above - made by Lynne. Just gorgeous. What I especially love about Lynne's card, and a few of our other entrants delight me doing this as well, is the wonderful use of papers and the image colours to match them. Or is it the other way around - food for thought there. I try my best but do tend to do paper first then pick out the Pro markers or pencils and such that are a good match or foil.

As always, we had some really great entries and it was very hard choosing just three entries as picks - less entries does NOT mean it's easier to choose, as I initially thought. If you're a pick or, as sometimes happens, a Gold Star winner, please always feel free to collect your badge from the 'Badges' page - click on 'Badges' on the top bar of this page.

Onto the prize draw, for three stamps from Brenda and also a  'Stitched Scallops Edger' die from the toy box. And the winner is:

Karen Ladd

To claim your prize, please send me an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease.

The current snippets challenge, being hosted by Sarn, still has almost a further week to run - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

Challenge #435

Hello Playmates!

Welcome to a new Snippets Playground Challenge, with me (Sarn) twirling round and round in Di's office chair for the next fortnight. Once I get fed-up doing that, you'll find me in the Treehouse doing my homework mixing cocktails at the Treehouse bar, or playing hopscotch.

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

Three Artist Trading Cards made entirely from snippets.

The prize for this fortnight's challenge comprises two stamp sets. One by IndigoBlu called "Under the Sea" and the other is "Water/Raindrops" by Inkylicious. Both useful sets, which came from the Toy Box (AKA Di's stash fund!).

Come along and join in the fun by using up some of your snippets on a project and submitting your homework via Mr Linky (below). Remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED and leave a comment saying YES PLEASE (or similar) if you want to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 3rd September 2022. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Results of Challenge #433

Hello Playmates - Sarn here - just popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the prize winner from Challenge 433.

My top picks (in entry order):

I thought Janis in ID's sweet little mouse stamp was so cute and I loved her design layout too. Super piece of homework!

Lazzie J's homework was a gorgeous blue, white and silver wreath card created with lots of snippets and an embossed background. Lots of work and a very pretty result.

I absolutely loved Leslie M's homework - where everything bar the card base is snippets. Love that tartan paper along with the glitzy gold stars. Great idea to use pennant dies to make the trees.

It's always difficult to choose just three out of your wonderful entries! If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Picks' badge from HERE.

Challenge #433's winning entry is No. 36:

Congratulations Chris. Please claim your prize by sending me an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and address so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.

Playground Shenanigans:

We've experienced another heatwave here in the UK, so the paddling pool (positioned at the bottom of the slide) has been kept topped up with cool water, and it's been great fun going down the slide and ending with a big splash at the bottom. The ice cream Eggnoggs have been going down a storm, as have the Summery Mai Dais!

Remember there's still nearly a week left to play in Di's current Playground challenge - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

Hugs from Sarn x

Challenge #434

Wasn't 'Christmas in July' fun in the Snippets Playground? Mind you, the snow machine WAS taking it a bit far Sarn, even though it was genius to fill it with teeny white paper snippets. I had to borrow Len's garden leaf blower/sucker to clear the residue up! We hope our Christmas in July fun has helped some of you on your way to starting to make your 2022 Christmas cards .... and also possibly given you some ideas for cocktails!

Straight onto my snippets card:

All the details, as well as Dudley's latest escapade (sigh), are over on Pixies - HERE.

The prize for this fortnight is:

Three gorgeous 'Beecrafty' (I so would love to keep them!) stamps from Brenda and also a La-La-Land 'Stitched Scallops Edger' die, which comes from the toy box (I snagged a real bargain at the time!). If you live outside the UK,  please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty - although we always send prizes clearly marked as "gifts".

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 20th August. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Love and hugs from Dudley (for the moment known as the 'Phantom Piddler') - and Di,
