Hello Playmates!
It's the start of a SPECIAL challenge here in the Snippets Playground - where we are celebrating 12 years of Miss Di holding the keys to the Playground. 😎 In honour of this, there are TWO BUMPER PRIZES on offer, as well as another THEME to comply with!
The theme for this challenge is CELEBRATION. You are free to interpret this in any way you wish, as long as the celebration is obvious on your snippets project.
Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE.
I went for a special birthday celebration! |
The TWO prizes are fairly evenly split - each comprising a mixture of festive embossing folders, stamps and dies - further details listed below. Yes, I know it's Christmas goodies, but this little clear-out of the Toy Box will give you things to make throughout the year, ready for next Christmas!
Prize A: A4 Angela Poole Snowflake stencil "Frozen Lace"; Sweet Dixie "Stitched Winter Foliage" dies; 2 x Tonic Studios dies - "Peace Dove" & "Star Bauble"; Crafter's Companion "Cute Christmas" clear stamps, as well as their "Jolly Gingerbread Man" die; Sizzix Thinlits "Retro Merry Christmas" die; 2 x Woodware clear stamp sets "Three Baubles" & "Festive Faces"; Visible Image "Simply Snowflakes" clear stamp set and a cling red rubber stamp set of a house and lovely Christmas sentiment saying "Christmas joy is in my heart".
PRIZE A |
Prize B: Tonic Studios' massive 32 piece die set called "Staggered Stage Winter Village" (to make up a village diorama as well as a super 3D card); Sheena Douglas "Frosty Ice Border" embossing folder; 2 x Crafter's Companion dies - "Brush Happy Holidays" & "Scandinavian Christmas"; 2 x Crafter's Companion clear stamp sets with various festive images; 2 x Woodware clear stamps "Patch Circle Bauble" & "Bringing Gifts"; Visible Image clear stamps "Inked Holly" and lastly, a Touch of Christmas "Christmas Baubles" die trio (round bauble, star and bell).
PRIZE B |
Items in both prize bundles were kindly donated by Lesley G; Val (Aquarius) and Lynn (Linby), as well as Di (and myself). Huge thanks to all of you.
Over to you now! Have a look at your snippets pile, then run off and make something with them using the CELEBRATION theme. Enter your project via Mr Linky, then leave a comment at the end of this blog post, stating whether you wish to play for PRIZE A, PRIZE B, or EITHER (or whether you're just playing for fun!).
The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 20th January 2024. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".
Hugs from Sarn xxx

DeleteWhat a milestone and thank you to both you, and Di for all the years before you came along to ably assist Sarn, for the successful running of this wonderful challenge. I love your 60th birthday card which is a real stunner with the large numbers and pretty stencilling in the background, and the fancy diamond spring shape is a definite winner...ages since I made one. If I get a card in I will be playing for fun. x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations with 12 years running this wonderfull challenge. Always love this challenge. Only playing for fun.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant prizes - yes please! I promise to enter my homework shortly! Love your Card Sarn, I'll be off to check out how you managed a diamond easel presently but in the meantime a huge congratulations to Di for keeping this wonderful challenge going for 12 years! Hugs, Kate!
ReplyDeleteWow - 12 years is one heck of an achievement! Biggest congratulations on running the challenge so well! Thank you. (I would be honoured to win a prize) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping this fun playground open for 12 years and I always enjoy the challenges and inspiration found here to create cards all year long. I also especially enjoy the antics going on over in the treehouse too *wink*. I have way too much schtuff in my craft collection already, so I'm playing just for fun but I wanted to offer my sincere gratitude and congratulations for 12 years worth of hard work! You two are the best! Heartfelt hugs for the new year and beyond.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 12 years! Yes please to either prize. Thanks so much for keeping the challenge open for so long.
ReplyDelete12 years is a fabulous achievement - Congratulations! Happy to have the opportunity to participate this fun playground.
ReplyDeleteYes please for the prize(s). I would be thrilled to win either of them (if I get to be the "first pick" then I'd like to have prize A).
Congrats once again!
Eemeli

ReplyDeleteA minimum of one snippet is all you need to play along.
DeleteGail your one snippet card is adorable! TFS.
DeleteOooo . . . 12 years!!! That's a long time, Di! Thanks for bringing us such a fun challenge for so long! I've said it many times, this is one of my very favorite challenges! A huge congrats to Di on 12 years of running the snippets challenge. Gosh, doesn't time fly and isn't it a bit scary sometimes when we look back at these things. I am so glad you have Sarn to help keep the place spick and span. You gals are amazing. Sarn your card is gorgeous. Never tried that fold but it certainly looks very much like it wants to party. I would love to be included in the draw. Would be very happy with either of those amazing prizes, but the second one particularly caught my interest because of the Sheena embossing folder and my certain weakness for wise men. Bwahaahhahaahhhaaaa ho ho ho. HUGZ
ReplyDeleteWoot, woot! Congratulations, Di! That is awesome and is definitely a reason to celebrate! Sarn, your card is gorgeous and I'll have to check out your blog to figure out how you made it, a real showpiece! I just linked up my card, and I used a lot of snippets; one was from 10 years ago, so that might be some kind of record LOL. If I am blessed to win, I would choose Prize B. Thank you so much to Lesley G, Val, Lynn, Di, and Sarn for your generosity in these amazing prize packages! Best wishes to all in the draw, and to Di, I wish you many more years of fun and games here at the Playground!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, 12 years is very impressive. Well done. Yes please, I would love to be included in the draw for either prize. They look fabulous and very generous xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for running this challenge Di. You and Sarn have been doing a wonderful job. Yes, include me in the draw and I'd love prize A.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 12 years! That's something to celebrate for sure! And your fun-fold card is so very elegant! That's a fold I haven't tried yet but definitely want to! I'm very glad I found your challenge as I love the reminder to use my snippets! Both prize sets look AMAZING, and I'd be grateful to be in the running for either of them. Thanks so much for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 12 years of holding the keys to the Playground Di, and on managing to keep the playmates on the straight and narrow (??) despite Sarn's repeated encouragement of drinking games! Beautiful card Sarn - very effective fancy fold and i love and indeed still regularly use that vintage numbers die set ..takes me back to my Cuttlebug which served me so well until just a year ago!
ReplyDeleteI have submitted some homework, celebrating Christmas as we have had a snowfall here overnight which put me in the festive mood! I would love to say yes please to prize A ... two fantastic prize bundles this fortnight, so thanks to both of you and also to the other generous crafters who cintributed.
Pauline xx
Congratulations on 12 years of Snippets Playground challenges!! What an accomplishment! As always a truly amazing card for inspiration. I have never tried this card fold but really should. It looks wonderful and makes this milestone birthday card even more special. The prize bundles both look amazing! Especially loving bundle A but wouldn't mind either of them. Thanks for a chance to win!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your homework, Sarn! And congratulations, Di, on 12 years of watching over us. I'm still feeling the Christmas spirit, so my card is celebrating Christmas. Yes please to either prize. They are both fab bundles. Marianne x
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for running the Playground for 12 years! Happy to play along in the Celebration challenge. I only have time to play along challenges every now and then but this one is one on my list that I do like to check out! I love the idea of this challenge and the good vibe and feeling around here! What a fun theme... which I am stretching a bit. I'm a snow lover... and have been waiting for snow since October. Was thrilled to see a few days of flurries within the last few weeks. And was able to celebrate the arrival of the beautiful flakes with a few winter walks before the 30 below zero wind chills hit this week. Like the sweet little penguin on my card, I do love winter and snow. The photo of my large pile of snowflake snippets proves that! (As far as the prizes.... I love both of them so please put me in the draw for either! Thanks so much.) And Sarn, if it is snowing when I one day get to actually visit you and the tree house... I bring warm clothes for building a snow fort. And a quart of Peppermint Schnapps to add to our hot chocolate!)
ReplyDeleteOh... and congrats to Di for 12 years of being responsible for this fun site. That is reason to double celebrate!
DeleteMmmm! Minty hot chocolate does sound good!!! Thanks! X
DeleteA lovely celebratory challenge this fortnight .. .. .. many congratulations on your 12 year anniversary Miss Di .. .. .. where did all those years go .. .. and why have I got more snippets than ever before????????????? Sigh!! LOL!!!
