So it's time for the GRAND SWITCH ON of the Playground Christmas lights. Woot woot!
All the local dignitaries smell because they wanted lots of money to press the button to light up the Treehouse and Christmas Tree - so, instead, Di trained Dudley to put his paw on the button. He's a Playground celebrity anyway - and works for doggy treats, plus he only smells of Talc (from his doggy shampoo), so it's a win-win!
Wheeee! I just slid down the green lit-up tube (shown on the left of the picture). SUCH fun! Have a go yourself!
Look how lovely the Playground Treehouse is, all festooned with lights. Well worth all the effort that Di, Dudley and I put in!
And the tree that we snaffled under cover of darkness?
It's a trade secret how we managed to tote it from the farm to the playground! But there may have been some bribery and corruption involved! LOL!
Took all three of us a few days to put those lights on! Good job I'm tall so I could attach that star while balancing on top of Di's shoulders (she was balancing on top of Dudley)!!!!!
Time for all three of us to put our feet up in the Treehouse and enjoy a well-earned hot chocolate with a tot of something warming added methinks! Come and join us up there for some festive fun and a mince pie or two. Bagsie one of the reclining chairs!
OK! So Dudley and I are sitting here all alone with our sausage rolls and cheese straws - AND no-one else in the Playground! What went wrong. Surely Dudley can't be expected to pedal ALL evening keeping the generator going with no-one else here? He's getting tired and might wee on the dubious cabling! Even Sarn is missing - probably at the gate charging entrance fees - oh heck, it just went dark! Who blew the fuse board then? Dudley's eyes just lit up like a couple of neon bulbs! I think he peed!! Di xx

Thanks so much for the surprise and all the efforts, Di, Sarn and Dudley!!! There is no one here at the moment, but Dudley had done a great work with the generator because the lights are all still on!! :D So I went up and down through the green lit-up tube and then made myself a nice hot chocolate. And also went to the bathroom to try the oh-so-pretty Christmas patterned toilet roll! I think perhaps I could recycle it ahahaha LOL :D

DeleteSee, I KNEW the patterned toilet roll would be a hit Sarn! Oh ye of little faith! 'Wee' look forward to seeing a recycled toilet paper card Alice. Thank goodness someone else is playing along! Dudley is still there beside the tree house - cycling like crazy and calling for fresh water and treats when he can come up for air! I think we might have a mutiny before too long though. Sigh.

ReplyDeleteSo sorry I didn't make it but just as I was about to leave to join you something came up and I missed the party, but I must say you have pulled out all the stops with the lights and Dudley must have peddled himself to a frazzle to keep all that lot lit up. Perhaps I'll come round for a look tomorrow and hope that there are some left over snacks to eat up. x

ReplyDeleteOh no - I missed the party - I was supporting DD who had to have surgery this past week - on the 1st, of all dates - how inconsiderate! (we were glad she had had it though, and the initial biopsy's are looking promising) I neeeed one of Sarn's a hot chocolates after that stress.

ReplyDeleteHi Miss Di, Prefect Sarn and Dudley, Goodness you three have been busy, look at all the pretty lights, please let Dudley know I am looking through my alphabet sets and getting cutting, the little hound's place has got the wrong name on it, we'll have to make sure to fix it up before next year... that green slide is magical, it brought me straight back to Aus, summer and shorts and t-shirt weather...
