MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
Thank you for all your wonderful support throughout the year, Sarn and I really appreciate it.
Hello, it's Di here, on Christmas Eve, in between all the wrapping, cooking and everything else - it's time for our annual Snippets Playground Christmas/New Year challenge. This time, please use snippets as always AND use the theme of 'Anything BUT Christmas'.
Here's my snippets make:
All the details, along with Dudley's latest Pupdate, are over on Pixies - HERE.
Last year, the prize was one £50 gift voucher. This year, we decided to split the prize in half so that TWO lucky Playmates will win a gift voucher worth £25 each (or overseas equivalent). There is no cash alternative.
The winners will need to choose their favourite craft store, which must offer gift vouchers, and I will arrange for them to receive a voucher - these days it's usually all done by email.
In many places, an order over £20 qualifies for free postage, but in any case, any postage/mailing charges due for items ordered using the prize voucher must be paid for by the winner.
Please do come and play, one entry only, for a lovely chance to win a pretty generous prize! Remember, neither Sarn nor I are affiliated to any craft shops or suppliers, and although a lot of prizes are donations from other very kind crafters - all the rest come out of our own piggy banks.
As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 6th January 2024. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.
Just a few words about the Snippets Playground Fiasco Nativity/Pantomime. We had enough angels to start our own heavenly choir, plus Pat as our soloist; a full complement of Three Wise Men and half a donkey! Fortunately, Carrie Ann saved the play from being cancelled by putting herself forward for Mary's role. Unfortunately, the donkey's rear end had a last minute attack of stage fright, leaving Kathy K to go on stage dressed in the front half only, bravely joining in and doing side kicks, whilst dragging the empty rear end of the costume behind her! Dudley made a very passable sheep, and behaved himself pretty well until the Magi knocked on the stable door, whereupon he ran over to the crib and grabbed the Baby (a swaddled Honka Duck) - causing mayhem. Luckily, being one of the shepherds, I managed to grapple with him, saving the day by putting Honka Duck safely back in the crib . . . and the show went on! Val was a great wardrobe mistress and also took on the role of waving the star through a slit in the stage backdrop. Sarn determinedly wielded Joseph's crook to hook people into place when they forgot their cues. And finally - Liz was a stunning lobster, even though she did look aghast at the huge bowl of Thermidor sauce we had ready for the feast at the after-show party up in the Treehouse - where more than a few satchels' worth of grog was consumed. Well done to everyone - don't call us for parts next year, we'll call you! 😅 (Note from Sarn . . . Whatttt? You want to go through all that again next year??? Methinks NOT!😉) Sneaky extra note from Dudley - a year is a long time Auntie Sarn! See you at rehearsals - woof!
Love and hugs from Dudley, me . . . and Sarn.
Merry Christmas to you all, but can you keep the noise down please, as I seem to have a bit of a headache, I’m sure I didn’t have THAT much grog!😇 The wise men (I had to look it up 🙄) made me jump too, but you and Sarn did a grand job of keeping us in order. I will definitely be back with my homework, as I need to find my halo……..HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! Xxx
ReplyDeletePhew, got my homework done, so a yes please , as long as I’m not in the naughty corner! Xxx
DeleteOoh my head! Pass me the hangover cure please Lesley!
ReplyDeleteNever again!
Wonderful card Di.
Good luck Playmates. Xxx
Hate to say it but the hangover was just a tad self-inflicted. I need to do a baggage search of your flipping satchel at random intervals! x
DeleteA lovely card Di - such pretty colours too. You are offering a very generous prize and I would love a chance to win, please.
ReplyDeleteWishing you both a very Merry Christmas!
Kath x
What a beautiful card Di so bright and the Dufex are always so pretty and shiny. If I get a card in I would love to be entered for the prize...so very generous of you! I think overall the play/pantomime went well, with just a few little slips and mishaps, and the drinks afterwards were..shall we say interesting. Thanks for all your hard work during the whole year to make this place a pleasure to come and play! And most important for using some snippets of our BIG piles!! :D
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed being a shepherds in the Nativity/Pantomime and all the whole Chaos too! :D LOL
I think that perhaps Sarn could repeat the next year if helped with a few more glasses... who know? ;)
Merry Christmas to all and hugs to You and Sarn... and BIG cuddles to Dudley!
See you later with my homework!
My homework is done and uploaded. Thank you for being in the draw, yes please!
DeleteHave you all a 2024 full of happiness, creativity and whatever you wish! May your dreams come true!
Hugs
What a beautiful card. Looks amazing. And love the prize. So generous. So YES please.
ReplyDeleteChecking in with my homework - great to be making a non-Christmas card. It has been another great Playground year culminating in the fun and games at the end and I hope you continue to get support in recognition of the dedication required by you two stalwarts in keeping this going - we do appreciate what you do. Back to normal now after all the Nativity play excitement (and after effects) 🤣😂 Please include my name in the draw for the very generous prizes this time.
ReplyDeletePlaced my homework. Please include my name tones, its a amazing and generous prize. Greetings Catrien
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Di, such a pretty design. I’d love to have my name in the hat for one of the generous prizes please.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Nativity that was, glad I got my lobster costume finished in time, although it was rather hot wearing it for so long. My face matched the colour of my costume by the end. Thank goodness I managed to keep away from the Thermidor sauce! My costume is still in pristine condition, so I’ll pack it away safely ready for next year. I might need to adapt it to include some sort of air conditioning to cool me down though.
Wishing everyone a happy, healthy and creative 2024….. with smaller mountains of snippets by the end of the year. xx
Love the idea of adding air-con! xx
DeleteThe nativity recreation was everything we expected it would be and so much fun! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and that Dudley can now resume possession of his beloved Honka Duck. Hopefully by now you've all recovered from your hangovers and have nothing but good memories of another playground fun experience! Thanks Di and Sarn for keeping this going for yet another year - you're both amazing, creative and so much fun for all of us! Wishing everyone a bright and promising new year in 2024 with lots of laughter and good times! Thanks for such a generous end of year prize too! Happy snippet creating!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to you both, Di and Sarn, and to all the playmates too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful snippets card Di - so elegant!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and Sarn - thanks so much for keeping the playground open!
I'm a 'yes please' for the prize draw.
Helen x
Di, your card is so pretty with those lovely flowers and butterflies! Such a nice change from all the wintry cards!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to start planning for next year's Nativity play! You and Sarn are a hoot as we say here in Michigan, USA!
Thanks for the chance to win such a generous prize! Sending new year's blessings to all!
Hi playmates
ReplyDeleteHope everyone had a really good Christmas and are feeling recovered from the celebrations .. .. and nativity /pantomime LOL!!!
I feel that Britain's got talent is an option for next year!!
So sorry to read that Kathy K was a rear end short of a full donkey. I am happy to volunteer now to take the rear role .. .. .. should a donkey be involved next year! (or the rear end of anything to be honest!!!).
Have submitted my homework for this challenge .. .. .. but if my name should come out of the hat then please re-draw .. .. .. I have played truant far too much this year to consider myself eligible, but fully intend to make amends during 2024!
Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy 2024!
Have left a bottle of bubbly up in the tree house .. .. .. help yourself if you fancy a swig!
Thanks for all the fun and inspiration you provide Di and Sarn and your very generous prizes.
Love and hugs
Jules xx
Wondered where that bottle of bubbly came from! THANKS Jules! Hic! 🍸
DeleteHappy Holidays dear crafty friends. I wish you and your whole team a wonderful 2024. I really enjoy in this Challenge. It encurage me to use snippets, wich I have a lot.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, for prize. All your prizes are wonderful, so thanks for chance to win.
May you all have a healthy and prosperous New Year! I haven't played here in so long, I'm definitely tossing my hat into the ring for the prize. :-D I'm so sorry to have missed out on the Nativity bash. Sound like a good time was had by all, at least at the after-party. :-D
ReplyDeleteHappy Tween'mas everyone. Hope you all had an awesome Christmas . The panto was an gynormous success. I'm not sure I should have drunk the myrrh but I thought it was cocktails. Hic! The donkey was brilliant and Dudley made an awesome sheep, even if he did eat jesus. What's a panto without a bit of chaos. Hic! Fab card Di. Yes please to be in the draw for the lovely prize and thank you both for keeping the playground gates open and the treehouse fully stocked. Hope you have a very happy New year and here's to an awesome 2024. HUGZ
ReplyDeleteSitting here wondering what the Myrrh tasted like! LOL! x
ReplyDeleteA little like bitter rooibos tea, so I really can't recommend it. Washed it down with some eggnog which was much more the thing. Hugz
DeleteOh you made me laugh! Dudley is right--a year is a long time! Maybe I can fly over in my angel costume--haha! You 2 are so generous with prizes every challenge & I love that you decided to have 2 winners this year! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, please put my name in the drawing.
DeletePersonally I think we Angels were a great success and you can't have too many. The nativity went as well as expected with everyone so over excited after our busy year of snippet making (and possibly the odd bottle of this and that 😉). Looking forward to the next one already...You'll have forgotten about the chaos and the naughty sheep by then.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Sarn and Di for keeping us all in line and making the Playground such a fun place to be. I'm working on my snippets card so Yes please the prize and fingers crossed I get it done xxx
Sounds like the Christmas pageant was a huge success!! Sorry I had to miss it; we had family in town. Happy New Year and thanks for having such a fun challenge blog! You know I love using up my scraps!! I will be a "yes, please" for the prize, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHomework completed! Yours is a lovely fresh card Di and how clever of you to know that we just couldn't take any more Christmas crafting! Much amused by the Snippets Playground Christmas Fiasco (and it's no good pretending it was anything other!) Hilarious! What a generous prize for two lucky winners. I would love to be in the draw, thank you. Hugs, Vicky xx
ReplyDeleteAmazing card Di. Love the butterflies and sparkle.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to everyone!
Yes for the generous prize, please.
Valerija xx
Sounds like great shenanigans were enjoyed by all - so sorry I missed all the fun! Your card is fabulous - so much lovely shine and you managed to capture it on camera! Yes please for the generous prize and a very happy and prosperous 2024 to you both you and Sarn and your over ones! Hugs, Kate!!
ReplyDeleteHi playmates, remember me?! I have been absent for a very long time but I have got a note from my mum! Wow sounds like I have missed a lot of fun with the nativity!!! I wish I could have seen it. I'm off to the treehouse to see if there are any 'refreshments' left. Happy new year all. Hugs Eve xx
ReplyDeleteHi Eve - lovely to see you again. Plenty of refreshments left in the treehouse! X
DeleteSorry I missed all the fun - I was away. Happy New Year and yes please to the very generous prize. L x
ReplyDeleteHope everyone has had a good Christmas and New Year. Your card is lovely Di. I'm running in last minute with my snippets card and I wiould like to be a yes please for the draw, thank you.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you all - sorry I'm so late with my homework but I have been away ... school was out lol!! Glad to hear the nativity play was an unqualified success (!?!) but I have to tell you I didn't get stage fright as the donkey rear end, just skipped off on holiday and couldn't be a***ed!! (there's a joke in there somewhere!!)
ReplyDeleteLove your card Di - fabulous shimmer and shine to it. I have also submitted some very shimmery and shiny homework in the hope of getting a class gold star... so it's a yes pretty please from me for your incredibly generous prize xx
Happy New Year to everyone and I wish you all good health and fortune in 2024. Lovely glitz and glam on your card, Di!
