Results of Challenge #436

What a sad couple of weeks. I think many of us were shaken by how deeply the loss of our beloved Queen affected us and there have been some very poignant and dark days. Sarn and I felt it was right to close the Playground for the Period of National Mourning. Had we not been so totally shocked, I think we would have closed it immediately rather than a couple of days after the news broke, but, that's hindsight for you. However, we're now back in the Playground and ready to have some fun. Come and play!

Here are my top picks from Challenge 436:

Carol L brought this really super Birthday card to share with us.Wonderful use of snippets and all the stars are really great!

I totally love these adorable little 'stamps' - made by Granne. Brilliant way to use up snippets and so lovely to actually see that the images started off like just as little images - the franking etc. was added by Granne.

And, last but not least of my picks, Becca made a really fresh looking Christmas card. I do love the idea of the bingo card - and that little Santa is the ultimate in dedication to fiddling with tiny snippets for sure!

If you're a pick or, as sometimes happens, a Gold Star winner, please always feel free to collect your badge from the 'Badges' page - click on 'Badges' on the top bar of this page.

Onto the prize draw, for the Pink Ink Designs 'Crazy Birds' stamp set. Obviously, closing the challenge early meant that 'the early birds' did indeed have a chance of 'catching the worm'! The winner is:

Pat

To claim your prize, please send me an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease.

The current snippets challenge, which opened on Wednesday, is being hosted by Sarn and still has almost a further week to run - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

Challenge #437

Hello Playmates,

Apologies if you saw this post a bit earlier than planned (there was a mix-up over the midnight start times!)

National Mourning has ended, but the Playground flag remains at half-mast while the Royal Family continue to mourn the loss of the Queen. Didn't we give her a good send-off though?! We did her proud with all that pageantry.

Di and I are still feeling pretty sombre (as I'm sure many of you are), but life goes on - and Playground duty calls. If the Queen can do her duty, then so can we!

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

The prize for this challenge is a fun stamp set by My Favorite Things, called "Old Friends" with matching dies from the toy box (aka Miss Di's stash fund).

Please bring your snippets homework to the Playground and use Mr Linky (below) to submit it for marking! Remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED and leave a comment saying YES PLEASE (or similar) if you want to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 1st October, 2022. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

The Late Queen Elizabeth

Following the very sad loss of our beloved Queen, Sarn and I have decided to close the Playground for a while as a mark of respect.

The current challenge #436 is now closed, but the Results will be posted on Sunday 25th September, as normal.

The start date of the next challenge (#437) has been postponed until after the period of National Mourning has ended. The challenge will start at midnight on Tuesday 20th September and will run until 1st October.

With love from us both

Sarn and Di

xx

Results of Challenge #435

Hello Playmates - Sarn here - popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the prize winner for Challenge 435.

Very, very, sadly, Di had to fly the Playground flag at half-mast due to the heartbreaking news of the passing of our wonderful Queen Elizabeth II. RIP your Majesty. Long live the King.

But the show must go on, and my top picks are set out below:

Being into Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) myself, I absolutely fell in love with Pauline's trio of them.
I really liked Erica's pretty card in pastel colours:
Sandy bought along some wildflower snippets to the Playground and I loved her background too.
As always, we had some great entries and it's sooooo difficult to whittle them down to just three! If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Pick' badge from the 'Badges' page HERE.

The prize winner of two water-themed stamp sets from Challenge 435 is No. 13:
Aquarius (Val)
Congratulations Val. Please claim your prize by sending me an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and address so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.

Challenge #436

Well folks, looks as if Sarn needs to be thinking about her Autumn menu in the Playground - we're not there yet but I reckon cooler weather is lurking round the corner. Anyone for hot chocolate - perhaps with a little nip of something added? ☺

Straight onto my snippets card:

All the details, as well as Dudley's latest news, are over on Pixies - HERE.

The prize for this fortnight is:

Pink Ink Designs - Crazy Birds - Buy 1 A5 stamp and get a Dinky Pinky

A Pink Ink Designs 'Crazy Birds' set of eight stamps. The second image (borrowed from Pink Ink's website) shows the stamps that make up the set. I love the leg bandage! I'm almost sure I spotted one of our Playmates using this set a little while ago and thought that it would make a fun prize.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 17th September. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Love and hugs from Dudley and Di,

NB - Sorry but Sarn and I have cut this challenge short, to show our respect during the period of mourning following the loss of our late and much loved Queen. More details are in the latest/newest post on The Snippets Playground - click on HOME.

Results of Challenge #434

Well, the heatwaves had us, mostly me, wondering how many entries we'd end up with this last time around. Sarn, ever a chirpy little soul reckoned we'd be fine - and me (aka Eeyore) took a gloomier view until the sprint towards the final few days!

Here are my top picks from Challenge 434:

I chose this entry, made by Christa, because it's fabulous of course, and also as the amount of work (and perfectionism) is stunning. A super way to use up loads of little snippets - and the fact that the edges are not exactly fitted to the joins of the patchwork really adds to its charm. Very clever idea.

Snippets can be used so many ways, and they often lend themselves to scenes. Our Val's entry is a classic example on her really super Christmas card. It's so stylish to begin with - and then just look at the very clever choices of top and bottom papers, great stuff Val!

And, with no apologies to 'top and bottom' papers, my last but not least, pick from the many possibles is this card above - made by Lynne. Just gorgeous. What I especially love about Lynne's card, and a few of our other entrants delight me doing this as well, is the wonderful use of papers and the image colours to match them. Or is it the other way around - food for thought there. I try my best but do tend to do paper first then pick out the Pro markers or pencils and such that are a good match or foil.

As always, we had some really great entries and it was very hard choosing just three entries as picks - less entries does NOT mean it's easier to choose, as I initially thought. If you're a pick or, as sometimes happens, a Gold Star winner, please always feel free to collect your badge from the 'Badges' page - click on 'Badges' on the top bar of this page.

Onto the prize draw, for three stamps from Brenda and also a  'Stitched Scallops Edger' die from the toy box. And the winner is:

Karen Ladd

To claim your prize, please send me an email using the Snippets Playground email address shown on the RH sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER (or similar) in the subject line. Please add your FULL NAME above your home ADDRESS so that I can copy and paste it for speed and ease.

The current snippets challenge, being hosted by Sarn, still has almost a further week to run - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

Challenge #435

Hello Playmates!

Welcome to a new Snippets Playground Challenge, with me (Sarn) twirling round and round in Di's office chair for the next fortnight. Once I get fed-up doing that, you'll find me in the Treehouse doing my homework mixing cocktails at the Treehouse bar, or playing hopscotch.

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

Three Artist Trading Cards made entirely from snippets.

The prize for this fortnight's challenge comprises two stamp sets. One by IndigoBlu called "Under the Sea" and the other is "Water/Raindrops" by Inkylicious. Both useful sets, which came from the Toy Box (AKA Di's stash fund!).

Come along and join in the fun by using up some of your snippets on a project and submitting your homework via Mr Linky (below). Remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED and leave a comment saying YES PLEASE (or similar) if you want to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 3rd September 2022. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

Results of Challenge #433

Hello Playmates - Sarn here - just popping back in the middle of Di's challenge, to share my Top Picks and the prize winner from Challenge 433.

My top picks (in entry order):

I thought Janis in ID's sweet little mouse stamp was so cute and I loved her design layout too. Super piece of homework!

Lazzie J's homework was a gorgeous blue, white and silver wreath card created with lots of snippets and an embossed background. Lots of work and a very pretty result.

I absolutely loved Leslie M's homework - where everything bar the card base is snippets. Love that tartan paper along with the glitzy gold stars. Great idea to use pennant dies to make the trees.

It's always difficult to choose just three out of your wonderful entries! If you've been showcased, please feel free to collect your 'Top Picks' badge from HERE.

Challenge #433's winning entry is No. 36:

Congratulations Chris. Please claim your prize by sending me an email using the Snippets Playground address shown in the sidebar, with PLAYGROUND WINNER in the subject line. Please ensure you add your full name and address so that it can be copied and pasted for speed and ease.

Playground Shenanigans:

We've experienced another heatwave here in the UK, so the paddling pool (positioned at the bottom of the slide) has been kept topped up with cool water, and it's been great fun going down the slide and ending with a big splash at the bottom. The ice cream Eggnoggs have been going down a storm, as have the Summery Mai Dais!

Remember there's still nearly a week left to play in Di's current Playground challenge - just scroll down to the previous post to find it.

Hugs from Sarn x

Challenge #434

Wasn't 'Christmas in July' fun in the Snippets Playground? Mind you, the snow machine WAS taking it a bit far Sarn, even though it was genius to fill it with teeny white paper snippets. I had to borrow Len's garden leaf blower/sucker to clear the residue up! We hope our Christmas in July fun has helped some of you on your way to starting to make your 2022 Christmas cards .... and also possibly given you some ideas for cocktails!

Straight onto my snippets card:

All the details, as well as Dudley's latest escapade (sigh), are over on Pixies - HERE.

The prize for this fortnight is:

Three gorgeous 'Beecrafty' (I so would love to keep them!) stamps from Brenda and also a La-La-Land 'Stitched Scallops Edger' die, which comes from the toy box (I snagged a real bargain at the time!). If you live outside the UK,  please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty - although we always send prizes clearly marked as "gifts".

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 20th August. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Love and hugs from Dudley (for the moment known as the 'Phantom Piddler') - and Di,
