Challenge #427

Hello Playmates!

Can you believe it's my turn to host the next fortnight's Snippets Playground Challenge again! These fortnights sure fly by! Managed to avoid detention after the first time I hosted, so all is well!

Hey girls . . . it's May Day here in the UK and I just discovered that Miss Di has been busy making flower head dresses all week and has erected a huge Maypole in the middle of the Playground. So, who wants to wear flowers in their hair, grab a Maypole Ribbon and dance around? Anyone? I'm IN! Miss Di has even got Dudley kitted out in a special neckerchief and he's happy to dance along with us (for treats!).

Before the dancing starts, here's my homework - a little card made entirely of snippets - full details on my own blog HERE if you're interested in making a zigzag card.

The prize for this fortnight (pictured below) is a lovely embossing folder and a beautiful floral stamp set, both kindly donated by Sandma. (Thanks again Sandma!). Both sets make up one prize and won't be split.

If you feel inspired to make something with your snippets, then please come and join in the fun, and dance around the Maypole (it's going to be in place all fortnight). Please remember to check the RULES HERE - as Di and I have noticed a few entrants have not said which snippets have been used in their project. Detentions may be handed out for non-compliance!

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will clang shut at 11am UK time on Saturday, 14th May 2022. The gates will reopen for the next Challenge at midnight the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

Hugs from Sarn x

  2. Assuming I eventually remember how to enter a challenge I will be playing just for fun. Would love to dance round the maypole but need to track down my thermals as it's perishing outside.

  3. Playing along for fun this time. We have rain and grey skies here so I hope it is better there for the Maypole dancing, could make the ribbons shrink if they get wet 🤣

  4. Lovely snippets cards Sarn. I remember Maypole dancing when I was at school - I always seemed to go the wrong way and tangle the ribbons. I'll be in the Playground soon and would love a chance of winning the prize, please.

Enjoy your May Day and thanks for adding to all the fun at the playground! Playing just for fun this time, but thanks for the challenge to use my snippets! Bottoms up! (I'm talking about the glass silly) *wink*

  7. Yes, I want to dance the Maypole, but don't think I actually could, unfortunately. Your card is wonderful & would work for a guy, too! I'll stay out of the drawing this time.

  8. Count me in for the maypole dancing - last did it at Primary school, but I'm sure it must be like riding a bike?!?!? Ha ha!
I'm playing just for fun this time.

  9. Ooh, not sure my knees will stand the dancing but I'll (wo)man the cider punch on the sidelines. Love your snippets card Sarn. Yes please to me in on the prize. I do like a nice embossing folder LOL.

  10. Interesting to hear about the Maypole dance which helps to bring the community closer to each other. First time to know about this kind of dance. I am entering my card for the chance to win such awesome prize.
Sunshine here throughout the months, temperature outside is unbearable. That's why I stay indoor spending time on crafting, lol!

  11. It’s a bit cold here for Maypole dancing, but would be a good way to warm up! Although….. hot chocolate and a little added extra would be a more fun way to warm up. 😉 Great card, I love the CAS design. I already have the embossing folder and also a similar stamp, so I’ll just play for fun this time. xx

  13. A really pretty snippets card Sarn and love the coordinating colours..a great shape too. Thank you to Sandra for the lovely EF and stamp she has donated as the prize this time and if I get a card in I am a 'yes please'. I think the Maypole dancing is certainly a fun idea but I think thermals may be necessary as the weather has been a touch cool for any skimpy summer outfits. It's fine for Dudley as he has a lovely coat to keep him warm. x

  14. Fab snippets make Sarn, I've been greatly inspired by your design! My maypole days are far behind me, but it has brought back memories of another Easter-time activity from my childhood, the greasy pole. Fun times!

  16. I'd love to be in the running for the prize, but I'll skip the Maypole dance as I don't think I could keep up! I can only imagine the terrible traffic jam as everyone piles up behind me in a mad heap!! What a lovely zig zag card ! I've only seen them on their sides, but I think I like the upright version even better.

  19. Your card is elegantly beautiful!! When we were kids we used to make paper cones, fill them with flowers then put them on the neighbors door knobs, ring the door bells and run and hide for May Day, I think it was the ringing of the door bells and hiding we loved most LOL. Yes, you can add me to the prize draw...thank you!!

  20. Hi there Sarn & Di, I'm just playing for fun this time.
Diane, what a lovely idea with the flower cones!

  21. Sorry forgot to say it's me (CarolG). If I played I would get the ribbons tangled up and then we would have a knotty problem. CarolG

  23. Glad to hear you're keeping the Maypole up for the whole two weeks, Sarn. That will give me time to find an appropriate all-white outfit. Yes please on the prize.

  24. Sarn, I've never danced around a May pole. So thanks for inviting me! Yes to that... and yes to the prize. Happy Spring!

  26. Gorgeous snippet make Sarn. I have just spent the whole of last week dancing round the maypole as I was on holiday for my birthday ... my dancing shoes are now down at heel, I'm all caked out and can't fit in my Morris dancing trousers (shake yer bells!!) I'm playing just for fun this time xx

  27. Cool card Sarn! Great use of snippets! Just playing for fun!

  28. The zig zag card looks really effective and could certainly use up plenty of snippets. Glad everyone is having so much fun with the maypole. Assuming the ribbons are still attached and the pole upright, I'll definitely join in.

  29. Your zigzag stepper card is terrific, Sarn! Way to use snippets! I had to decline the maypole dance this year what with the new hip, but eventually I'll be able to get up in the tree house again and even ride the bike. Wait. What? Well, maybe not the bike. In the meantime, I'm walking and I'm behind the bike shed in the usual place. I've something warm in my flask to take the chill off ... Hugs, Darnell
