Challenge #437

Hello Playmates,

Apologies if you saw this post a bit earlier than planned (there was a mix-up over the midnight start times!)

National Mourning has ended, but the Playground flag remains at half-mast while the Royal Family continue to mourn the loss of the Queen. Didn't we give her a good send-off though?! We did her proud with all that pageantry.

Di and I are still feeling pretty sombre (as I'm sure many of you are), but life goes on - and Playground duty calls. If the Queen can do her duty, then so can we!

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog HERE:

The prize for this challenge is a fun stamp set by My Favorite Things, called "Old Friends" with matching dies from the toy box (aka Miss Di's stash fund).

Please bring your snippets homework to the Playground and use Mr Linky (below) to submit it for marking! Remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED and leave a comment saying YES PLEASE (or similar) if you want to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 1st October, 2022. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge. Winners outside the UK: please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

  15. What a beautiful card with the combination of stencils and die cuts in a lovely purple. I think that the Queen would have been proud to see the send off she was given, and I have to say I had a lump in my throat when I saw her corgis and pony standing by during the ceremonies. Yes please to this hilarious stamp set, as I know several family members already who would get a chuckle out of it.

  17. It's been a sad time in the UK with the loss of the queen and going forward without her will be strange after having had her for such a long time. Playing just for fun this time, but it's good to see the playground open again.

  18. What a beautiful and very fitting goodbye to your Queen! So sad but really a beautiful send off. Made me cry! And prayers for your country with hopes that all will be well in the future with your new King. Yes, please to that fun prize! My Aunt loved to send snarky cards for birthdays, but she just passed away in May - well, someone needs to pick up her tradition - why not me?! lol And Sarn, your card is so delightful and L*O*V*E the purple. ;-)

I had fun creating my card that uses more snippets and upcycled items than I've ever used before. So fun! And a big yes please for putting my name in the draw for the prize.
