Challenge #469

Hello Playmates!

It's the start of another fun challenge here in the Snippets Playground and you have until 23rd December to get your homework done.

Here's my homework, the details of which can be found on my personal blog (along with a bonus card) HERE:

The prize for this challenge consists of three stamp sets and two die sets. Contributors to this prize are: Darnell; Lesley G; Lynne Robson and Di - thank you so much everyone

So, now it's your turn. Please bring your snippets homework to the Playground and use Mr Linky (below) to submit it for marking! Remember to SAY WHAT SNIPPETS YOU USED (or include a photo of them) and leave a comment making it clear whether you're just playing for fun or wish to be included in the draw for the prize.

The Playground gates will clang shut on this challenge at 11am (UK time) on Saturday, 23rd December 2023. They'll reopen at midnight (UK time) the same day for the start of the next challenge.

Winners outside the UK: Please remember that you may be charged fees and import duty on your prize - although Di and I always send them out clearly marked as "gifts".

If you are having trouble commenting, please see HERE for a possible solution.

If you're up for a part in the Nativity Play please let me know in the comments! Dudley says he'll be one of the sheep. I need a friendly farmer to loan us a donkey and a manger! I've started to hide bottles of grog around the Treehouse as I think we'll need it afterwards!

Hugs from Sarn xxx

  4. You know I love your card, and what a super bundle……I’m very tempted to enter 😂, however, I will definitely come play but just for fun. I can’t believe I missed the last challenge, but suffering from the super cold, I didn’t want to spread my germs. I’m sure I’d make a good 😇 angel, albeit a naughty one 😘 xxx

I'm worried, perhaps I missed my homework in the last challenge...? Honestly I don't remember it. However I hope I don’t have a punishment LOL :D
This time I'm already entering! Beautiful prizes, but I play just for fun, thank you
    Happy Sunday to all!

    2. Well clearly no nativity play is complete without a lobster! You’re on the cast list! X

    3. I almost cried laughing about the lobster! Wasn't there an octopus as well? I can see this turning out to be absolute mayhem! x

    4. Looks like I'm lobster #1! Whoo hoo! Would be good to have an octopus as well for company. Anyone up for volunteering to be an octopus? x

  10. This is a beautiful tree and I do like the kraft treatment. Yes please to the prize, thank you. And yes of course I want to be in the Nativity. I always wanted to be an angel, never was perhaps because if I wear white, I will immediately spill something down it. I have some tinsel for my headdress. 😇

  15. 'Ere Sarn - we seem to have an overload of flippin' angels! BUT, only one lonely shepherd (aka me!) with her Dudley Dog 'Shaun the Sheep'.

Summick's not fair - 'we need balance, we need balance, we need ballan'............... oops, I just fell over! Who put dat Dog disguised as a sheep beside me?

You still need Mary and Joseph - good luck finding a bearded lady in our girlie crafters - I will watch and wait! xx

    1. Thanks to a lack of oestrogen - I have a few chin hairs that never used to be there! 😳Perhaps I'd better be Joseph! LOL! 😂 🤣

    2. Pass me a tea towel. I'll find some stripy PJs! x

  16. As Dudley is one of the sheep - perhaps we should swaddle Honka Duck as Baby J???

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Absolutely! Honka Duck is his constant companion - but I wonder if Baby would mind being almost licked to bits?!

  17. Some hilarious comments - good luck with casting the Nativity Play 🤣. Please include my name in the draw this time, thanks. Hopefully there are no parts left over for me to be in the play - past my best for performing but you might need a wardrobe mistress??

  18. A really pretty stylised tree and love the embossing on it, and goes beautifully with the kraft card and pretty paper Sarn. If I get a card in I will be playing for fun this time. I do sing in a choir so perhaps I could be the heavenly chorus in the background...well, maybe not so heavenly but I'll do my best. x

    1. P.S. I do sing better with a bit of lubrication...just saying.

      Delete
    2. Just hunt around the treehouse cupboards - you’ll find something smooth & satisfying to help you sing along !!!

      Delete
    3. Sarn, since when did we have a smooth and satisfying crooner in the treehouse cupboards to help us to sing along. Or am I missing summick here?

      Delete
    4. How did I miss your comment. I can bring a can of WD40 with me? Or am I missing summick - besides a few marbles!

  19. I'd love to play for the amazing prize!

  20. Occurs to me that this Nativity Play could easily turn into a pantomime especially if everyone finds out where the lubricating grog is stashed 🤣

  21. Lobsters and Octopus and angels, OH MY! This sounds like the kind of environment I'd fit into quite well LOL Love that pretty card Sarn and I hope there are no mishaps at the Nativity scene! We may need more angels than sheep at this rate! LOL Those are great prizes but I'm playing just for fun this time around. Make it merry everyone!

  23. Beautiful snippet card Sarn - love the kraft and white combo, so stylish. I have submitted my homework in good time this week, but am in the naughty corner for commenting as I can only come on here when I fire up the desktop 'pooter - ipad still says "no" to commenting on here!!
I'd love to be in the Nativity play but seeing as my memory is shot these days I'd better not have a speaking part as I'll never remember the lines ... perhaps I could be the rear end of the donkey??
Gorgeous prizes, though I will play just for fun this time please

    1. Hi Pauline! OK, so that's you out of the role of prompter - along with yours truly who can never even remember the day of the week a lot of the time! !
Sooooo, how's about you do the make-up and work alongside Val who is the Wardrobe Mistress? She would take you under her wing and you would be company for one another behind the scenes - whilst waiting for a minor disaster to repair or cover!
      Hugs
      Di xx

We'd never reduce you to being the rear end of the donkey - unless you have a burning desire to burst into some sideways kicks on-stage. That would liven things up - a dancing rear end of Mary's donkey. Your choice kiddo!

  24. Love the pretty simplicity of your card. Yes please to be in the draw. Someone must have fixed my inability to comment cos I haven't got around to tackling it myself yet. It's a Christmas miracle!!! Hugz

  26. Oh how fun! I'd like to be in the Nativity Play! That donkey part sounds right up my alley LOL! Your card is so cute, Sarn! I always love kraft and white together, so elegant! I just linked up my snippets card and so sorry I forgot to take a photo - I was in a hurry when I made the two recycled cards so I completely forgot about it, but I did list my snippets on my blog. I'll be a YES for the prize, thank you so much to the generous Di, Darnell, Lynn, and Lesley, for the lovely prize items! Sending best wishes and blessings to all!

  29. Lovely Christmas tree card, Sarn! I love the look of kraft card stocks behind the white embossed tree!

Looks like I'm just in time with my homework, and I volunteer to play Mary in the play! I've had some experience in that role as I played her in a live nativity back when I was about 10 years old!

I'm playing just for fun this time.
