Challenge #428

Well, we had a bit of a mixed bag of weather for the May Day Celebrations - I almost dread to think what Sarn will dream up for our Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Which reminds me, must order some bunting and other bits and pieces as, no doubt, things will get to fever pitch very shortly.

Ha, my challenge to Sarn is a red, white and blue cocktail for the Playground celebrations! I'll make the Coronation Chicken sandwiches - and Dudley can be Chief Taster!

Straight onto my snippets card:

All the 'how I made it' details are over on my own Pixie's blog, HERE, should you want to know more.

The prize for this fortnight is several stamps/stamp sets:

They are all made by Little Claire (sadly no longer trading, but I loved their stamps) and they come as ONE single bundle. The stamps were kindly donated by Sue of Zouave Cards, along with loads of other goodies yet to be offered. Thank you so much again Sue.

As always, the Snippets Challenge will run for two weeks and the Playground gates will close at 11am UK time on Saturday 28th May. The gates will open again at midnight UK time on the same day. Mr Linky is below this post.

The latest news of Dudley is also over on my own Pixie's blog post for today - HERE. He's getting too clever for his own good!

Love and hugs from Dudley and Di, xx

  1. I'm sure that bad weather won't slow Sarn down one bit when it comes to the Jubilee celebration! Just make sure you buy the kind of bunting that is waterproof, or you may have colors running everywhere! Playing just for fun this time, although those stamp sets are just adorable! Your decoupaged card is so elegant and beautiful and the gems add such a nice touch. I've never done much decoupage because I'm not patient enough with all that gluing and layering, but the results are spectacular.

    1. Sarn, I need help for my mental state! A long string of Jubilee bunting and also a packet of Union Flag strips to glue or staple together to make paper chains has already arrived. Hope it doesn't rain on the day - perhaps keep those for decorating the tree house indoors? Also 10 small Jubilee flags are due to arrive within the next week. Only bought 10 so we'll all have to share. x

  16. What a gorgeous card Di! I love that texture and shimmer on the honeysuckle. Not sure you should have put the idea of red white and blue cocktails into Sarn's head but it would be rude not to sample them! That's an amazing prize generously donated by Sue, but I'm just here for fun this week :) Hugs, Vicky xx

  25. Sarn, I had a beautiful red, white and blue cocktail that I made for July 4th in 2019. I am still searching for the photo and recipe. I know it had Blue Curacao on the bottom but I can't remember what the other layers were. I'll keep looking. In the meantime, I hope you and Di like my very little snippet of golf balls on my card! Enjoy your weekend.
